Alektor Restaurant: We try to rescue forgotten cooking techniques in order to preserve and present to the public and the generations to come, the tradition and nobility of Zakynthos.
In a place where the past meets the present, at a historic square at the center of Zakynthos, you will enjoy an endless variety of dishes. Our traditional Zakynthian recipes are made with fresh seasonal ingredients which are produced on the island of Zakynthos (Zante). Mr. Vithoulkas with several years of experience in restaurants and his mother, Mrs Elena, chef of Alektor restaurant, with love and respect for tradition and history, are always seeking forgotten cooking techniques to offer you an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Our specialties include rooster in red sauce, pork shank in the oven with beer, mustard, and rosemary, local beef in red sauce, rabbit in red sauce, and fresh fish dishes. * If weather conditions do not allow an outdoor event, it will be held at another venue.Excursions to Zakynthos

Friday 25 September:
ΖAKYNTHOS DAY TOUR BOCHALI – AGIOS NIKOLAOS – SHIPWRECK BEACH-BLUE CAVES – ANAFONITRIA – THERIANOS FAMILY FARM – 6 hrs €25
DETAILED ITINERARY: BOCHALI VIEW-POINT:
The first stop is Bochali Hill, the old neighborhood of Zakynthos town, the views of the town and the port are absolutely stunning.
ΝΕΧΤ stop will be at Agios Nikolaos port:
- Free time for a walk or a swim or
- Optional (extra cost) take a boat for a mini cruise to the Shipwreck beach and see the famous Blue Caves (optional, with extra cost and also depending on the weather).
SHIPWRECK BEACH: Discover the location that makes this island so unique, one of the most photographed spots in Greece, the Navagio (shipwreck) beach with its clear white pebble sands.
BLUE CAVES: After our photo stop at the Shipwreck beach, we will head to the amazing Blue caves. With an extraordinary shade of blue in some spots, we’ll get up close to the caves and go inside some of them, a great opportunity to jump off the boat, swim, and see the fish with a mask and snorkel.
After the Agios Nikolaos stop, we will go to ANAFONITRIA. We will visit the old monastery that Saint Dionysios lived and next stop will be at EXO HORA, and its famous 2,000-year-old olive tree. It is one of the seven oldest olive trees in the Mediterranean, and probably one of the oldest olive trees in the world, still producing olives to this day. Here we will find some traditional products from local farmers that you can taste for free, such as oil, olives, wine, and liqueurs as well as biological beauty products.
THERIANOS FAMILY FARM: Therianos Family Farm is an organic farm in the center of Zakynthos, where the owners cultivate a wide range of fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Their Olive Oil was awarded the Gold Standard at the International Society, Olympia Awards. They also produce a selection of wines and the famous black raisins. The best thing is that you will have the chance to taste all the products and meet the animals of the farm

ZAKYNTHOS HALF-DAY TOUR, LAGANAS BAY, TURTLE SPOTTING- MARATHONISI / TURTLE ISLAND-KERI CAVES – 4 hrs.
CAMEO ISLAND: Heading to our first stop, the dreamlike Cameo island in the bay of Laganas, (known also as the wedding island) which is one of the most beautiful sites of Zakynthos. You will enjoy the views of this small idyllic paradise that is located just off the coast of Agios Sostis in the south of Zakynthos. Walking back to the port from this marvelous wooden bridge.
- Free time for a swim, a coffee, or a beer
- or you can rent a little boat on your own (with or without a skipper) to enjoy the views of the bay and look for turtles.
- or (OPTIONAL – 30€ PER PERSON), you will meet the SUBMARINE glass boat waiting for you for a mini cruise to the National Marine Park of Zakynthos. Get your cameras ready as you will be informed when turtles are going to surface to breathe, or when they pass under the glass bottom of the boat. MARATHONISI/TURTLE ISLAND: Marathonisi is an exotic, green island, part of the National Marine Park. The captain will drive the boat inside the two impressive caves while the sunlight floods in and paints the walls with an array of blue tones. then, he will head to the other side of the island for a one-hour stop at the small, golden, sandy, and clean beach where you will have the chance to swim, snorkel, or suntan. Moreover, it is very moving and an absolute joy to see the protected nests which are obviously all roped for their protection. We ask our guests to respect the regulations to ensure that the ancient mariners’ sea turtles that inhabited our planet for over 100 million years are not disturbed. KERI CAVES: The breathtaking Keri Caves are located on the southwestern part of the island and are carved by time, tide, and wind. Sailing along the coastline, you can admire the white single beaches, amazing rock arches, forested hills, and views of the huge limestone cliffs that fall straight into the sea
